Ayrshire award-winning beaches revealed

Eight Ayrshire beaches will be flying the Scotland’s Beach Award flag this summer after being recognised by environmental charity Keep Scotland Beautiful.
The awards celebrate well-managed beaches across the country, focusing on cleanliness, safety, access and environmental standards.
In South Ayrshire, Troon South Beach, Prestwick, Girvan, Maidens, Ayr South Beach and Barassie Beach all received the award for 2026.
Irvine Beach was also recognised for the fifth year running, while Newton Beach on Cumbrae picked up the honour for a second consecutive year.
A total of 52 beaches across Scotland received the award this year.
