DWP Universal Credit glitch causing payment swings

Matt Finlay

Thousands of people receiving Universal Credit could see sudden changes in their monthly payments due to what’s known as a “double payday” issue. The problem occurs when two wages fall within the same assessment period, often due to early payments around Bank Holidays.
