East Ayrshire named UK’s most affordable mortgage area

East Ayrshire has been named one of the most affordable areas in the UK for mortgage repayments.

New figures show that homeowners in the area typically spend around 17 per cent of their gross income on mortgage costs.

North Ayrshire and South Ayrshire also ranked highly, placing within the UK’s top ten most affordable areas to highlight the regions’ relative affordability compared to other parts of the country.
