Saltcoats fire treated as attempted murder

A fire at a property in Saltcoats is now being treated as attempted murder, with police launching an urgent appeal for information.

Emergency services were called to Canal Street at around 11.20am on Saturday, May 2, where the blaze was quickly brought under control. No injuries were reported.

Detectives say the fire was deliberately set at the door of the property and are carrying out extensive enquiries, including reviewing CCTV footage and speaking to local residents. Anyone with information has been urged to contact Police Scotland.
